John Farrish
Principal attorney
John combines his wealth of legal experience and love of aviation to shepherd aircraft sales and acquisitions for clients from start to finish and beyond. Immediately prior to starting InFlight Law, John was Vice President of Transactions and General Counsel for one of the world’s largest aircraft brokerage firms, guiding over 400 transactions in four years for owner-pilots and corporate flight departments. John was previously a partner at a national law firm, representing small business owners and Fortune 500 companies in civil litigation across state and federal courts. John has bench and jury trial experience and obtained wins for clients in international arbitration.
A sought-after speaker, John presents domestically and internationally on aircraft transaction best practices, nuances of the import and export process, and ethics. John is a Board Member of the Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA), and a winner of the National Business Aviation Association’s “Top 40 Under 40” award in 2020.
Shawn McKenzie
ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY
Based in Atlanta, Shawn brings experience in litigation, corporate lending, and transaction law to the world of aviation at InFlight Law. Prior to joining InFlight Law, Shawn worked in a commercial real estate finance group of an Am Law 100 law firm. His background dealing with commercial lenders and real estate law gives Shawn unique insights into navigating the complexities of large-scale transactions like private aircraft.
Shawn is a Double Dawg, having received both his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs (2015) and his Juris Doctor law degree (2018) from the University of Georgia. He is admitted to practice law in Georgia.
Addysin Gay
Law Clerk
Addy combines extensive operational aviation experience with a growing legal practice at InFlight Law, focusing on aviation transactions and regulatory matters. Currently a Law Clerk, she completed her Juris Doctor at Georgia State University, where she has earned academic distinction. At Georgia State, she represented clients in a legal clinic, strengthening her advocacy skills.
Addy first joined InFlight Law as a Transaction Coordinator, gaining valuable experience managing logistics and regulatory details in private aircraft sales and acquisitions. In addition to her legal work, she is a Certified Flight Instructor. Her prior aviation roles include serving as a Ramp Controller at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and as a Senior Technical Writer for Delta Air Lines, providing operational support for various fleets. This operational foundation allows her to approach aviation transactions with a nuanced understanding of the industry's complexities.
